Privacy

The short version: your laboratory reports are never sent to us, and your email address is only used to send you what you signed up for.

Your test results

The Decoder runs entirely inside your browser. The file you upload is read by your own device, analysed there, and gone when you close the tab. It is not uploaded, not stored, not backed up, and nobody at Bon Poil can reach it. This is not an internal policy, it is a technical constraint: our servers never receive this data.

What we do measure

When you run a reading we record only, and with no link to your identity: the species, an age bracket, the list of markers recognised and, for each of them, whether it sat above, below or inside the range. No figures, no name, no address, no identifier. These statistics are used to publish aggregate trends, and are never used below thirty observations.

Your email address

It is kept so that we can send you the newsletter and, where it applies, your report. We hold alongside it what you tell us: species, the animal's age, whether or not there is a health problem at the moment, and for professionals the job you do. This information is only used to send you content that is relevant to you.

We do not sell, rent or share any address. Every email carries an unsubscribe link.

Data controller and your rights

The data controller is Bikito EURL, the publisher of this site, contactable at contact@bonpoil.fr. You have the right to ask for access to your data, for it to be corrected or erased, for processing to be restricted, for your data to be ported to you, and to withdraw your consent at any time. We reply within one month. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk.

Lawful basis and retention

Collecting your email address rests on your consent, given when you sign up, which is the lawful basis under Article 6(1)(a) of the UK GDPR. Addresses are kept for as long as you stay subscribed, then erased within three months of an unsubscribe. The anonymous statistics, which cannot identify you, are kept with no time limit.

Cookies and audience measurement

The site sets no advertising cookies and uses no third-party tracker for targeting. No consent banner is needed, because there is nothing to consent to.

Where the data is hosted

Email addresses and anonymous statistics are hosted by Supabase in the Europe (Paris) region, so inside the European Union. The site itself is served by Vercel.
