Why the tool is built this way

A laboratory report is written for a veterinary surgeon. Labels are abbreviated, units change from one laboratory to the next, and the reference range printed beside your value is not the same in Leeds as in Bristol. That range is what the Decoder works from, not a scale we would have picked ourselves.

The reading happens entirely inside your browser. This is not an internal policy we could change tomorrow, it is a technical constraint: cut your connection once the page has loaded and the tool still works. Our servers never hold your results, so they can neither lose them nor pass them on.
